Welcome to the archives here at talie's tantrums. Have a look around.
Talie is a work-a-holic. No really. She went to Uni with aspirations of being a writer/editor… but then fell into an events management position at Adelaide Uni for 10 years or so. Here she also started to dabble in website design and desktop publishing.
After leaving Adelaide to return to her hometown she promised herself she’d get a normal job. The kind you get to go home from at nights and forget about til the next day. She tried this for a year, but office management just wasn’t her thing, and out of the blue applied for a job as graphic artist at a magazine. Not only did she score this job, but also the role of editor. A childhood dream come true you might say. And for two years or more it consumed her life. Weekly deadlines with 64 pages of editorial content per week… all on her own as well as some ad setting and custom printing, and also maintaining her clients with gunhoundink.com…
Then as a free agent Talie worked as a graphic artist and writer with many clients, including Noorla Yo-Long, Riot City Wrestling, Nadine DiGiorgio’s Wedding & Event Management Services, Little Goat Gallery, Women in Business & Regional Development, Spanlift Buildings… etc. etc. before becoming a fulltime Graphic Designer with The Border Watch newspaper.
But that was short lived, and not meant to last.
NOW, in the job she was born for, Talie has returned to her roots and is the Venue Coordinator for the Main Corner Complex in Mount Gambier. A multi-million dollar award winning building that houses 8 venues, 11 projectors, SA’s largest regional Art Gallery, a cinema and more. She gets to host community events, hire the facilities for corporate and private functions, and still dabble with her design skills with her marketing role.
Life has turned full circle. It’s been a bumpy ride, but totally worth it.
